Basically, my car will be about 85% street car and 15% autox dori car. I really want Tein HEs, but I'm not sure if I can justify spending that much on one set of parts. I am also considering RS-R race sprigs and AGXs and then ST sways and mabye Cusco camber plates. Does anyone think that coilovers are necessary or good for a daily driven car? Also, I plan on no more than 215rwhp on my upcomming SR (if this matters) so my car is not going to be a monster by any means. Also, I plan on autox more than dori dori...

When in doubt, just remember the good old saying: "You get what you pay for"

If you want race car handling, you gotta pay up. Since its mainly a street car, and you have reasonable and limited goals with it, I don't think its necessary for you to pay a fortune. But if you want to kick butt at autox with a street car, you're gonna have to get the expensive stuff anyway...

nope. not at all, get some camber plates, a set of nice linear springs and adjsutable dampers, you're set.I mean, if you want, you can get a set of the TEIN FLEX coilovers(900 dollars or something) those work well for street cars, and allow adjustability for the autocross. YOu dont need to get balls-out suspensions peices if you arent going to use them where you can appreciate them.

HE's are overkill.-chet

To be totally honest, I thought long and hard at work today about my car. I dig drifting a ton, but I have always really loved grip and circuit racing. I think I am gonna get some nice shocks and springs and camber plates/pb mounts. That way, I will have more money to throw at the SR right when I get it (as I will be buying it at the same time as soon as I get my student loan check here in about 3 weeks;))

Time to go edit my signature...

Where are you all seeing FLEX for that cheap? I'm not doubting you all, but if this is true, I'll get a set now. On average, I have seen HE for 1200 and FLEX are usually around 1500. I think the TEIN basic dampers are around 800, are you talking about that one?
