If you look at the oil filter mounting base, at roughly 6 o'clock (bottom side) there will be a factory sensor. I can only assume it is for the stock presure sender, anyways, mune was disconnected to begin with. Crappy wiring.I removed that and installed my Autometer oil fitting to that port. My gauge is a Sport Comp. mechanical so I am only running the 1/8" tubing from the port, also on a KA E.

cool man i appreciate it...im gonna look at it tomorrow when i have light and determine how to do the routing...its an electric short sweep so i hope there is enough room for the sender...and do you think ill have any issues with disconnecting the original sensor or would splicing into it hurt anything?

Honestly bro, I have more things disconnected or missing from my drivetrain than hooked up and have yet to through a cel.If memory serves I removed the factory sensor with either a 19mm or a 22mm wrench. It was one of the bigger ones. As far as routing, I popped out the rubber grommet for the heater core drain, made a small cut, ran my oil line and temp. sender for that gauge and re-inserted the grommet. As far as issues with splicing into it? Well on my particular engine, it was an oily, brittle mess. I made the most of my opportunity while I had the engine out for rebuilding. I have noticed no ill effects by not having the factory sensor connected. Hope that helps or at least eases your worries some.Good luck.

well i found it and the wire connecting the pigtail to the gauge is shot...but i think its been the years that the motor has been in need of a valve cover gasket and its coated in oil sludge..but when i did disconnect the plug from the gauge...i got about a tablespoons worth of oil coming from the plug...that only means...bad sending unit...im gonna assume that the fitting size is 1/8 npt because the only stuff ive seen take the 1/4 npt fitting that the gauge comes with is domestic but i just relized i dont have a big enough socket to get the sender off and i cant get my hand in that space very easily so f@$k it...im just gonna pull the motor because at 6' 3" 270lbs...its very hard to be doing any maintainence let alone a sensor change in the small confines its in on this little go kart...i swear i look like donkey kong in mario kart driving this thing

I used the stock oil sensor hole also and I never had any oil lights come on or cels. mine was also a DE engine also. I also found another threaded hole just below the oil sensor that has a allen head bolt in it, I plan on using that for my oil feed line for when I turbo my KA.
