I was just wondering what's the main difference between a strut bar and a sway bar?? aren't they the same? is it better to have one over the other or to have both?

a strut bar or strut tower bar goes between the top mounts of the struts weither this be in the engine bay or trunk it helps to stop chassis flex

a sway bar basically connects the suspension to the frame rail or crossmember, this stops the car from having to much body roll.

no they are not the same if you could only choose one go with the sway bar, but i think its better to have both just depends on who you talk to

A front strut tower brace that ties into the firewall (typically called a "triangulated" FSTB is the way to go with a vert. Changes the attitude of the car completely.
