Well, as the thread topic says it, I'm trying to get a skyline for off road use, would I have to go through the same channels as getting it from an RI and such? I know it wouldn't have to meet emissions, safety etc, but just getting the car in the country is the biggest question I'm asking. After hearing about all these cars lately being seized by customs, I don't want to have a car thats intented for track use only get seized by a bunch of d!ck heads.

Well, I would be using it just for pure track racing, thats the thing, it would never see city roads other than being on a trailor

well its gonna depend on how much you want to spend. they are out there and some of them are cheep. i just bought a 95gtst for 16700. I juat got the new title last week and my ND plates. you just have to be patient and check things out and call people. check out a site called modifiedcartrader.com i think thats what it is call. i called a guy about a 180sx but he sold that and told me well i have this r33 for sale for xxxx so i said send me some pics and wouldnt ya know it i joined the US skyline owners club. just keep your eyes open. the only thing you may need to watch out for is if the state you are in inspects the car before title transfer. ND only does it if the title is a salvaged one i think thats where my loophole was. it started out in florida with a florida title.. good luck!!

buy one that is already in the states, look in california, actually check craigslist too. i've seen them on there. but more importantly don't forget that you live in conneticut, and you'll need to figure out transportation cause you can't drive it there. or just put a deposit for the new one, cause the dealers are planning to put a $20,000 over charge of the already high price tag.

For off-road only you still need to get a RI that is on the approved list. I'm sure there is some paperwork to specify it will not be used on the roads they they are aware of (HS-7 is one). Do your due-dilligence and check around for one who can handle it properly so you don't have one confiscated when it comes into port.

I have a great idea, why not ontop of that RALLY racing skyline you could do a General LEE paint job, LOL it would also go great for "street racing". O and you have to change your name to Paul Walker.

you can bring it your self for track use but make sure that you declare the car before it gets here and fill the paperwork if you can so they dont give you to much trouble when it gets here..
