I've inherited a project CA18DET swap. Most of the work is done except the wiring, but we keep finding little bits and pieces missing.

I've been trying to find a list of cars that use this ignitor chip so that I can call local salvage yards to try and get ahold of one. All I know of so far are the Infinity Q45 and 300ZX. What other USDM cars/trucks/whatever use an ignitor chip that I can get to work on this CA18DET?

I've been searching for a while now and can't really find a list other than those two. Salvage yards don't even seem to know what an ignitor chip is. It's rather lame.

Suzuki Sidekick is the same as a SR ignitor as well. And easy to find in junkyards.

Will an SR ignitor off of a FWD/AWD SR20DET work? A friend of mine may have one laying around in his mess of leftovers.

BLKTOPS14SR, I might take you up on that one. :D

Local forum isn't the best organization from what I can tell. 200 pages and no ignitors. If I get REALLY stuck I'll post a wanted ad. It can't be that hard to find one.

Thanks for the help guys (and gal)!

that should work assuming it is a DET.

I'm the one with the DET in my Sentra. I don't think a car with a distributor has an ignitor/ignition module/power transistor like what rccardude04 needs lol. The S15 SR20DET is the only SR20 with coil on plug right? We are still looking for an ignitor/ignition module/power transistor.

Either way, his had a distributor, so we're boned on that one.

Local salvage has a Q45 though so if all else fails, that'll do the job.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll probably have more questions in the next couple weeks. Hopefully we were careful enough to get it all right on the first try.
