drop the front driveshaftatessa stays healthy, only sees the front is loosing traction, transfers 100% to the rear wheels

yeah trust the guy whose car is set up for drifting AND time attack....two different types of motorsports that require completely different settings
Kyle Basbous wrote:yo dude you have to enter a corner at a high rate of speed near top rpm and steer into the corner dont counter steer because you will lose the angle cause the front tires will pull the car in that dirrection. The reason you enter the corner fast is cause you want the weight to transfer to hold the momentum. You controll the car with the e-brake by quickly pulling up on the e-brake several times in a row to lock up the rear tires and unlock them. You hold the angle with the throttle you have to hold the gas the hole time but really drifting an AWD car is for the experienced sorry to say. by the way i love skylines

No-- I totally agree. It takes some speed on my car. It almost came natural after a couple of years half-assed drifting a FWD car. (I always used the momentum to break the rear end) I really try to control it without the ebrake though. I was never really a good ebrake jockey. I learned the hard way about trying to countersteer. It just takes some time. Bad thing is your clutch burns out faster than the wheels. I'm riding on a bad clutch now. It still gets me around.

yea if your just doin it for fun keep it simple and save your money. get some used low thread or none is best lol and push it in the corner when you feel the tail end slide out straighten up and gas it while sliding. but do your thing man and again envy the whip

How about going into a turn at high speeds, lift e-brake and turn steering wheels to put the car sideways, then accelerate hard to exit the turn? In theory, the grip from AWD should be able to put you back in control....

This might be more of a powerslide...rally style

it may be a RWD sport....but AWD can drift....And the best most effective kind of drift too, 4 wheel drift...Which can be done in all layouts ^_^http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDBICkz7Pq4

And whoever said Drifting and time attack require totally different settings, this couldnt be further from the truth.

Drifting is 80% technique. And an ideal Race Car is always neutral, not including driver preference which would mean the suspension is setup in such a way so that all four wheels can loose traction at close to the same rate, not only does this increase the limit of the car but makes it much more predictable and easier to control. Oversteer and understeer do not happen unless measures are taken to induce it...Which would mean if he has a mostly neutral setup, changing between "drift" and "Time attack" is as simple as changing your driving style...

It may not be the BEST drift car, but its a damn good time attack car, and as we already established Drift is mostly technique, not setup. So this probably what he means by its setup for "Time attack and drift"

this is how i would do it in my old WReX. it's almost like you have to go too fast into the turn. not my favorite thing to do BTW. The Atessa controller is your best bet of course, change the torque split and all.
