My Q has started suffering from some bad stuttering while driving, and while sitting at a light the RPMs will sometimes drop down to about 500, and sometimes will stall...my auto shop diagnosed the IAC as not working correctly. I've pulled the valve off, and when I turn the ignition on/off, the valve isn't moving in and out (as the FSM says it should)...I checked the harness and it does have power...do I have any choice other than spending the $400 for a new IAC valve? I would welcome feedback from you guys that have dealt with this problem yourselves :)

Yeah go to a junkyard and pull one off yourself, clean it so it looks new and throw her on.

Of course test it before putting it on but I doubt it would be bad since its rare to see one (the solenoid I mean).

so I cleaned it up the best I could, and I plugged it back in and turned the ignition on/off, i could see the valve moving in and out a little! i reinstalled the valve and drove for about 30 miles today and it worked perfectly, no stalling or stumbling! just when i think i've got it fixed, as i pull into my parking lot it starts acting up again :( time to start calling the junkyards :)
