trying to determine year motor was mfgd.

i'm trying to determine which year motor that i bought recently. actually like last year so i can't remember what the seller told me. so i would like to find out if there are any manufacturing marks or otherwise on the block or head that might tell me what year it is. i'm pretty sure it came out of a s13 chassis and it is a de so that narrows it down a little.

there is a serial number on the back side of the motor's block somewhere... you could trace that through nissan somehow if you ask a mechanic at the dealer. Maybe NISTECH could help you out. Find him in the Online Mechanic forum.
