Does anyone with the Premium cloth have feedback on how well it cleans and wears? i.e. dirt brushes right off, or needs a vacuum, or needs more? How's the leather once it breaks in (those who have it)? I found it a little slippery when I sat in it on the lot. I'm torn between getting the full leather/tech (because I'd really love the bluetooth and intelligent key) and the premium (because, well, it's less expensive and I'm not sure about how much I love the leather). I have a Mazda P5 with leather now, and I find it more comfortable than the Rogue I sat in. But then, it's had 6 years to conform to my butt.

I have the premium cloth and I really like the look and feel of it, I have the black with red. It cleans really well, no issue there, I'm not sure how durable it will be over the long term, as some of the seams look a little less than new after 1 year of ownership, mainly the seam on the left side of the drivers seat, but it's very subtle and definately not worn looking, I guess only time will tell what it will look like after 10+ years, but I'm not worried about it. Also, my kid and dog have gotten it wet a few times with no visual evidence of it now, not sure how a stain would come out but with the black I don't think you'd see much of a stain anyway. You're right about not all leather being equal, I'd definately get feedback from leather Rogue owners before spending the big bucks on it, you don't want to be disappointed...

My 'premium' cloth seats have been wearing very well. I believe the standard cloth seats use the same color/material for the entire seating surface. The 'Premium' cloth seems to use a different material for the inserts on the seat bottom and back. It seems like a thick woven material made of 2 different colors of thread.

The trim seems to be the same material as the base model cloth, is the part that seems to get a little abused. Mine has 'pilled' slightly on the high wear areas.

BTW...

Canadian model Rogue's come with heated cloth seats on the SL models. This is an option only in Canada ... our friends in the US have to buy leather to get seat heaters.

The seat heater does both the bottom and backrest. They are a must on cold winter days!

Can't say I've noticed any slipperyness. Could be whatever the dealer or factory uses on the leather.

I've got the Premium cloth (SL Black).

The seating and back surface are a much tighter knit and I'm certain they will hold up better than the normal cloth. If you don't mind paying a bit more, I'd suggest it. It needs to be vacuumed because dirt collects at all the angles. Quite easy to clean up.

The SL Black/Red looks really good but is only available with certain exterior colors.

The leather isn't a very high quality - who knows how it will stand the test of time. I personally would rather consider after market leather rather than the stuff Nissan gives. Getting leather also forces you to get a bunch of other options you may not want.

I'm definitely all over the heated seats -- thankfully, that's on both the cloth and the leather here where I live. This might be a dumb question, but are the leather seats ALL leather, or are parts vinyl? I wasn't sure the side parts actually felt like leather, but the salesperson swore up and down that they're all leather.

I noticed that as well. The open weave tends to collect dirt. It's not a big PITA, it easy to vacuum it clean.

I have the SL black and red leather. It looks gorgeous in the car for sure. I bought it used with 17k miles and the leather isn't slippery at all. My dogs ride in the hatch area and leather wipes seem to clean up their drool and hair fine.

And yes heated seats are nice

We have a white sl with black leather/red stitching. Only 1,000 miles on it so far, but the leather seems nice. The entire seat cover is not leather, however. If you reach down the outside of the side bolsters, you can feel cloth. Every part of the covers that you would normally "contact", though, is leather. We took a drive in a cloth seated Rogue, and I felt the seats were too squishy and seamed a bit shorter than the leather seats. The difference in length was likely due to the squishier feel of the cloth (for reference, I'm 6'3", 205lbs). Typically, leather cleans up easier than cloth, and stuff takes longer to soak into it. Be careful with conditioners and stuff, though, as some soften the leather too much and cause more harm than good. If the leather seats you try out don't seem firm and tight, I'd tell your dealer you want a rogue that hasn't been covered with any kind of protective goo or treatment.

My cloth seats started to tear and fray in the very first month. So I went out and had after market leather put in (classic soft). I had a custom job done: Two tone leather with perforated inserts and "ROGUE" monogrammed on the seatbacks. I believe this was all still much cheaper than what the dealer would have charged for just "basic leather."

I have the SL premium cloth and had to get a driver side seat back replaced because of wear. It was covered under warranty but the car was only 8 months old when it happened. Most likely the way I get into the car but wear should not have happened this early. If I had it to do over, I'd get the leather.

Thank you all for your input. I bought my Rogue today, and opted for the leather. Very excited to take delivery next week!

Wow, I've had my Rogue for over a year and the wear is barely noticeable. No where near as bad as your photo...

To save the seat backs from wearing try this -

Purchase a L or XL Crew Cut Neck T-Shirt the same colour as the predominate colour in your seat. Remove the Head Rest and stretch the T-Shirt over the seat, pull it down as far as you can and then replace the Head Rest. Plain colours are best. Installed on my 2009 Rogue and will save the part of the seat when you are getting in and out.

Your post is useless w/o the pics of your new Rogue.

I just join the forum and I just read your post.

I got the leather and that was the part of the vehicle that got the most of my attention. It looks really sporty, non slippery and the heated seats I'm sure will be nice but I already add it a long range Viper/Pink remote start. The wife will really enjoy it during cold days.We are already using the remote start now in the hot/summer days.

So where are those pics of your new Rogue?

I would be slightly concerned with side airbag deployment as you are covering the seam that is intended to split during side airbag deployment.

If you restrict the "seam" with a t-shirt, I am not sure how this will affect the airbag deployment. Granted that the bag deploys at such force but the angle and effectiveness of the airbag could be compromised.

Example of an airbag deployment on an F-150 (best pic I could find):

I am in Canada so my SL has heated cloth seat, does that mean I have Premium cloth? The sale told me the SL use different/better cloth than S, also did try to get me to get leather, but never mentioned anything about "Premium cloth". In fact I never heard or saw the term until I see this thread...

I have a 2010 SL w/ Premium Black on Black Cloth... I love leather but it requires way to much care... This cloth is awesome though def. alot better then reg. cloth and it seems very resistent and easy to maintain.

Awww... no more red and black leather seats?? I really love the look of those seats and that red stitching was awesome. I would have gone with the black leather but the interior with all that black was a bit too much.

i have the 09 SL red/black fabric and its great, so far it wears great and seems durable but mine is only a month old... i love leather but it has to be nice and soft, some lower end leather if too stiff/rough, i hate leather on hot days though, burns your a** and thighs!
