i just wanna do alittle venting! i'm trying to swap my sr20det into my s13 and it seems like nothing ever goes right. either parts missing, lost tools, no money, etc... i've done several project cars in the past, but none as indepth as this one. every night when i get done working on it, it looks uglier and uglier then i get the feeling that it's never gonna get done! i'm also doing extensive body work as well and that seems like an endless task! i need to find some motivation....somewhere....somehow!

You should really give up.Tell ya what, I will take the project off your hands for $2,000.Imagine being free of the stress and frustration, think of all the free time you will have! and the extra cash! you could spend every weekend at the strip joint! You can spend time doing the things you enjoy instead of beating your head against a car that will never be done.....

(shhhhhh.....trying to brainwash him)

But seriously, I have been there. The best motivation is to take a ride in a friend's SR S13 if you know anyone. Or go to the late-night drags and watch some evening. The best thing you can do is promise that everyday you will do something that gets the car closer to being completed. No matter how little, just do something everyday. It also helps to make a checklist of things that need to get done, that way you can look at the list and say, "man, that isnt that much! I could do all that in a week if I really busted my *** and didnt get much sleep."Seeign it all written down helps me.

dude i know where u are...it took me 3 months to save up enough money to get the engine...lotsa over time at work, then after that it took 5 months to get the motor in and running 1/2 right, back fireing missing at WOT...then i had to go to school...and 3months after i go to school i come home on a break take it to the shop...we figure out whats wrong with it changed out the ECU its running fvcking great 13 lbs of boost and im driving on a country road the day after i get the car out of the shop, and a MOTHERFVCKING DRUNK DRIVER HITS ME! i still havent given up on it...u will be so happy u wont know what to do with urself when its all done. The night i picked the car up and it was running 1/2 right (the shop is an hour from my house) i was smiling the entire way...my face hurt for the next 2days...DONT GIVE UP, and DONT DRINK AND DRIVE

I don't know where you are yet, but I will when I start my swap in about 3 weeks I'll be sure to keep this thread handy for motivation. Out of curiosity did you get a moter set or a front clip?

actually i got neither. i bought just the bare motor with no ecu, no wiring harness, no motor brackets....nada! i had to search everywhere and spend mucho $$$ to get everything together. i would definately recommend spended the few extra bucks and get a complete set.

Yeah, I ordered a clip because I wanted a good refrence to go by. I've had several people advise that.
