so i was with my little cousin yesterday and he wanted me to do a burnoutnow before everybody says i am irresponsible i never ever do this kind of things and am very responsible anyways hes 16 and a little car freek like me and wanted me to do it i havent seen him in a long time (two years) so i desided to do it so i turned off the vcd revved the engine and let out the clutch and the car just kinda lurched and stopped so i put the clutch back in and stopped revving the engine and then got the worst smell of burnt clutch after that decided to go home which is about three miles away and could still smell the burnt clutch it was really bad

now im 28 and havent done this since i was 16 but why would the car do this?and could there be more damage that just the clutch

thanks for all the info

It's a "safety" feature....we're still trying to figure out how to disable it. You can't release the clutch with the RPMs over 5k...in any gear, or any speed.

LOL...ahh the memories. That was my first question when I joined here!! Actually I found this site by searching for the answer to that. haven't heard that asked in awhile either. Guess no one figured that out yet!

Still a gay feature on the car if you ask me.

Lemme guess...your clutch stuck to the floor too??

I wouldn't worry about it. There is no real damage I'm sure. More of a warning saying "Hey!!! don't do that again!!"

Unless of course you notice something different??
