First, I have heard the question a couple times and i want to provide yet another "I have personally done it with my own hands" answer to the question of will KA internals go into the SR case. The answer is Absolutely. With no problems at all.

Second we have had some threads on this recently and the internals of the transmission are similar but are NOT identical. The gears, syncros, bearings exc are however the SR has some kind of extra contraption on the shift rod. Looks like it locks out reverse or something. I did not use it on my KA transmission and everything is fine.

Also. Everyone warned not to get an unsprung puck clutch be casue it's not streetable. I've driven it a couple times now and it's really not a big deal at all. If you have some skill with a 5spd slipping the thing is not a problem. I also REALLY like the increased pedal effort because the stock (SPEC II) pressure plate is SO soft I always felt like it was slipping too much. I will admit however that in a hilly area the HDR6 is probibly not a good clutch but if you live where it's flat (Mississippi) it's great!

I was already aware of the ease of an unsprung disk. It really isn't as bad as everyone makes you believe (buncha wimps!). Although slipping it isn't as easy as say an organic disk, you can still slip the thing, just gotta get used to it. The KA vs SR transmission deal is a new grain of salt. I guess in japan people often miss and hit reverse eh?? HAHA! And yep, Mississippi is great, they just need smoother roads :( .

The CA and RB internals should fit as well if my memory serves me correct.
