Hey all - I'm not an A/C owner yet, but will be as soon as I can sell my daily driver. I have a real easy question that anyone that owns an A/C can answer for me.

I have a JL 12W3 in a slanted box in my current car, and need to know if i'll be able to get it into the shallow trunk of the A/C. So the question at hand.... How tall is the trunk in the Altima Coupe, or in other words, what is the height of the inside of the trunk?

there's a thick .5 - .75 inch piece of sound deadening carpet underneath the trunk carpet that can be removed and give you little more room! With that removed, your box may just squeeze in there, but it'll be tight!

That's good to know, thanks.

How about the top, anyway way to squeeze a little more extra space?

Pretty much 12*20*29 = 6960 x 0.0005787 = 4.027752 cu ft and with 3/4 MDF it comes out to be 3.0913430625 cu ft of space to work with. Now you could pull out your spare and or your 6x9's to make more room. Btw I was able to get an extra 1/4in from the top.

Someone remind me not to ask a statistics major a question related to geometry

Zigggy56 (12" H x 29" L x 20" D) are pretty much the "safe" max dimensions you have to work with for a box in the trunk unless you start removing your spare and all the other goodies. 3.09cu ft is the volume of the box for the given dimensions I posted if using 3/4 (0.75) inch MDF (Medium-density fibreboard). I hope I was more specific this time.

Don't forget to subtract the volume of the sub basket and magnet structure

OK math majors, I picked up my car today, the sub will actually fit between the 6X9s however that wastes the entire trunk and makes an impratical car even less practical.

thus I pose this question to the math majors... Design a sealed box with a volume of 1.125 cubic feet that will fit under the 6x9s off to one side. Keeping in mind the top-mount depth: 6-5/8" (sub requirements taken from crutchfield website) Sub is JL 12w3v3
