My trunk will not open on my 06 M35 no matter what I do, the FOB has a new battery and the release button in the cabin of the car does not work. Is there any other way to get inside the trunk as my wife only drives the car occasionally I have not had the time to troubleshoot the issue thoroughly. And right now it is way too cold to be outside messing with the trunk, any help would be appreciated.

You can use your key. Just to the right of the license plate lights--you'll see a small hole.

Check inside the glove box. There is a switch in there that will allow you to open with the key and the trunk release in the car. I hit that switch by accident one time and had the same issue
