Hi - I hope someone can help with this......I have a 2004 G35 Sedand and the trunk will not open. I have tried using the remote to unlock the trunk, as well as the button in the car to unlock it. I also checked the button in the glove compartment and it is set properly. I have also tried putting some pressure on the trunk to see if that would loosen it (in case it is jammed). Unfortunately, the seats do not go down, so I can't access the trunk from the inside to try to open it. When I press the remote, I am pretty sure I can hear a clicking sound in the trunk, but it is not unlocking the trunk.

One other thing I noticed last night - the passenger side front interior light and the back seat light on the driver's side are not turning on. Could the problem I'm having with the trunk be related to the light problem (i.e. is it a fuse issue and maybe these lights and the trunk are on the same fuse??).

I've been reading the threads on this board and there is lots of great information here. I hope someone can help. Thanks.

Since you have an 04 the first thing I would do is replace the battery in your remote if you have not done so recently. You should still be under warranty so why not call the dealer to reserve a loaner & let them check it out?

First of all i would download the manuals that were so nicely posted. I have done alot of reading in there recently and if you are getting certain lights that are doing strange things that could be a code. Also you will want to look in the section of the manual that deals with the Reciever for the remote system. After messing with my ECU my trunk isnt opening at the moment either but its all right there in he manual.

Cheers and good luck!

Yes most likely your latch is bad,see this at times at my dealer, maybe you can let your rear armrest down and somehow manually release the latch.Make sure if you get it open you dont close the trunk back, may be a good idea to go ahead and get a trunk latch.Have seen one before where something in the trunk got caught in the latch and nothing had to be replaced, maybe you could be so lucky, good luck.
