trunk won't open

ok, my trunk is closed and i can't get it back open.......WTF!?!?!. i tried holding the release up while i had a friend try and open it but still couldn't get it open....what the hell is going on?

errrr......the trunk is shaved so i can't use the lock ......

You are S.O.L. Only thing to do is climb into the back of your car pop off the panels and pull on the wire to open it. then go from there

yep its to do with the wire.. jiggle around with the thing i had to do it a few times to get it to work after i replaced my trunk lol

btw how did u go about shaving it or did u have it done at a shop?

the guy who had the car before me had the entire rear end shaved by some shop here in town(no antenna, trunk lock, or emblems)

so to answer your question i have no idea....

anyway....i'll mess with the wire tommorow, now how exactally will i go about getting to it?? and behaind what panels is it located?

Dude, fold down your rear seat, get a flash light and get a long stick or someone tiny to crawl into the trunk, then right where the locking mechanism is, just play with it and it would open. make sure after you open it put the lever in the open position that way you wont have to deal with it again. i had the same problem once. it takes like 5 mins to do it. good luck

i'm not really sure u can pull the panel off the back of the trunk w/ the lid down... u can try to fiddle w/ the wire @ the handle-end by grabbing it w/ some pliers & yanking it while friend keeps trying to pull up the trunk lid.

trunk/fuel door lid cable strectches w/ age... there's an adjustment u can make @ the latch mechanism for the slight cable stretch, but it's better to do it w/ the lid open...

In the trunk behind the lock there is a hole w/ a metal switch in it that goes up and down. One way allows the handle to be used to pop the trunk. The other way disables the handle from being used. It is the anti car stereo , spare tire jacker switch. J/k but that is what it does. Take down the seat reach in there w/ your hand or a broomstick and flick the switch up or down. I forgot which way locks and unlocks the handle.
