Is there a trick to reinstalling these? Other than being smarter than trunk lid, I'm at a loss. Thanks for your help. BTW, anybody ever experience their throttle just in effect automatically and unassistadly being floored upon start of motor?

Welcome to NICO and hello neighbor! I am in Galt.

The trunk springs are rather dangerous to reload. I use a telescoping hood prop to hold the lid up while I install them.

As far as you throttle goes I dont know what would make it do that. unless the throttle return spring was broke but you would be at wide open throttle all the time.not just at start up.

Not to hijack this thread, but my trunk doesn't seem to have any tension springs on it at all. The lid will hardly stay open by itself, and it only takes gravity to shut it.

So where are these "springs"?

240's dont have them. you just have hood shocks back there.

as for the throttle issue, try disconnecting your cruise control cable(if you have it).
