Did you check the kill switch in the glove compartment?

Hey David- If it turns out to be the kill switch don't let us know. Just say a wire was loose on the kill switch connector.

It sounds like the key works but not the door button? I'm not sure if your 93 has a remote fob and if it works the trunk but the trunk lock actuator is easy to access and remove. After checking the kill switch connection ( ), if you suspect it's the actuator you can remove it, jumper to a battery, and see if it works. It's a 2 pin connector so you can easily check for 12v with a meter while someone depresses the door button. Good luck.

No its not the kill switch I messed with that turning it off and on but what I think is that maybe the kill switch is out since the trunk lock motor works and the door switch works it does open the fuel door and I tried 3 different door switches to make sure that wasnt it. I'm suspecting a fuse or relay or maybe the kill switch is out.

No remotes until 1994. You should know better from hanging with Jay, Mike!

Hey, let me know what happends. I have the same problem!! But my fuel door doesnt work eather!! ( I hate having to go thru the trunk to put gas in the darn thing, i get wierd looks)I swapped the switch and still nothing. I check with a volt meter and no voltage going to the switch. Have you tried that?

Ya yours just sounds like a bad trunk and gas door switch if you replace that it should work.

no such thing as infinity anything in this world..... Look at the back of the car, the engineers got it right!

get out your FSM and open to BF-9, the trunk wiring diagram...

First thing I would try is jumping the kill switch. take it out and jump the terminals. See what that does... if that doesnt do anything, un-jump. I dont know if its a normal switch or a different kind.

Of course you could try applying voltage to the trunk actuator and see if it works...

Its an absolutely simple circuit, anyone good with a VOM should have it figured out in an hour.

Isn't there some sort of solenoid that can go bad in the trunk mechanism? I remember reading a post about it here somewhere around last month.

They go bad too... been there with Q2. Driving around with Q1's with over 200K in service now.
