I've noticed that it's weather sensitive, so for ex: when it's warm or hot out it pops up about 2 inches without re attaching and closing.szhosain wrote:

Unfortunately, I have no idea what they cost. The struts were replaced under warranty for me ...buhdda wrote:Z, thx 4 the info but unfortunately the car is past warranty by a couple of month. Do u by any chance remember how much the struts were?
r u still interested in working something out?Bag302 wrote:I used half of Burtman's kit and it works well. It seems that the trunk would be too hard to close with 2 shocks. With one of Burtman's shocks, the trunk pops open about a foot and closes nicely.
I'd like to sell the unused shock. If anyone's interested, let me know.
Thanks i will give it a try...but in the mean time i have figured out that if you make a two consecuetive and rapid pushes to the leverl it will open the trunk. With much practice i can now do this, and no longer face the problem of not being able to open my trunk from inside the car when i'm alone.sbonesz wrote:I fixed mine with a cheap fix. I screwed a couple of springs into the trunk edge. toward the rear window there is a wide area (not seen at all when trunk is closed. There are two round shapes stamped into the metal there. It almost looks like they meant to add something here, but didn't. I used black painted springs about 3/4 inch round an about 1 inch high with a black painted washer and screw. They work perfectly and look like they were meant to be there all along. Also, as my gas struts age, I know the springs will always work. I no longer try to do the 5 yd. dash from door to trunk to grab it in time. Cost=less than a buck.
Sorry Buhdda, I didn't see this until now. As it stands, it is going to CakeDaddy. If it falls through I'll let you know.buhdda wrote:

Do you have any pics that you can share with us? What kind and size of springs did you use and where did you buy them? Thanks.sbonesz wrote:I fixed mine with a cheap fix.
