Am I imagining things, or is the M35x trunk not all that much larger than the G35?

imagining things.

lol. well the car is wider than the G, so its bigger that way, it might also be a tiny bit longer too. The extra length and width of the car in the M compared to the G isn't dedicated to trunk space, it is dedicated to legroom and space inside the cab. There are probably very few people who would complain about that choice and prefer to be as cramped as a G to get more trunk space.

If you have a full size spare it may be smaller than vehicles with the 17" skinny spare tire.

The spare is "underneath" the trunk anyway so it doesnt take up any space.

I can get 4 sets of golf clubs and 2 fold up pull carts in my 2008 M's trunk. That's a lot of room.

Not true. One of the first things I did to my M was to lose the full size spare and replace it with a donut spare. When you do that, you can also remove the styrofoam "spacers" that will lower your trunk floor about 4". It makes a *big* difference in the usable space.

Try it....

School me please....

What's the advantage, (save for some trunk space added) to getting the temp spare over the fs spare?

dount spare advantages - takes up less trunk space (after you remove the spacers), weighs less than the full size spare (miniscule performance and MPG improvement, easier to change on the side of the road)

Full size advantages - can go much farther and faster on the spare if you really need it and are far from civilization

Bottom line for me - I live in the East with a tire shop in every town. I'm never going to be farther than a few miles from a tire source if I have a flat. I still have the full size spare in the basement in case I ever f'up a wheel. But the donut is fine for me and I really need and use the extra trunk space.

+1Yes the M has 15 Cubic feet, or 4 dead bodies of trunk space. I could have been 17, but the back seats would have sacrificed space and comfort, and if you compare the back seats to a 5 series or an RL, you'll notice much more space.
