Trunk scissor jack hinge

is this hinge really needed i was thinking about removing it, anyone have pics of a coupes trunk, ive always owned hatches so dont know if all coupes have that scissor jack hinge,

Coupe has torsion bars instead. I think vert has scissor jack because to give some space for the top well.

Your trunk lid is heavy and will not stay up without the henge and trunk struts. If you need to get anything out of the trunk you will hate yourself for removing it.

what if i remove the scissor jack thing and replace it w/ the regular coupe system, anyone done this yet?

Torsion bars might intefere with the top when it's dropped. I'm sure there's a reason behind this. I've always thought scissor hinges are cooler than regular coupe system.

There's nowhere to mount the coupe hinges on the inside of the trunk unless you do major cutting/rewelding. I actually did the research trying to go the other way (i.e. taking a vert hinge & putting it in the coupe).
