Well I have had this beautiful car for 5 months and it has been an experience whenever I get behind the wheel. Absolutly love driving it. I came out today and pressed the trunk release on the keyfob and nothing happened. So I tried the trunk release in the car and still nothing. I checked the switch in the glove box no help. I don't have a owners manual and was going to check the fuse, couldn't find the fuse in the fuse box. Went to the auto parts store and no manual is available for the car. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. Glad you found us. I'd be willing to bet the battery in your fob may have run down. Try changing the battery andlet us know.

A low battery in the fob would stop the trunk release inside the car from working?

Thanks for the welcome. This is a pretty cool site. Bought a used Maxima a couple of years ago then after divorce had to get my sports car. I drove many different types but could find none to compare to the G35 coupe.

If the button on the inside isn't working either, then something is going on besides a dead battery in the key fob. If you search on the Internet for Infiniti G35 owner's manual, you will find Infiniti Publications website where they have all the owner's manuals in PDF format. Then you should be able to locate the fuse, at least I would imagine, I haven't looked through mine yet to find a fuse. If its not the fuse, then all I can say is ask the dealer or some automotive electrician to take a look at it.

Ok all thanks for the help. Here's what it was. I opened the trunk lid and the release actuator would work. Then when I shut the trunk lid the actuator stopped working. I peeled back the boot to the wiring harness and found a broken wire. Probably broke due to the previous owner install of the rear trunk spoiler. Repaired the wire and I am opening again. Thanks to all that chimed in for assistance. See ya guys on the road.

I'm having the same problem. But I have a coupe with no way of accessing my trunk. Any ideas?

Thanks! I have a '03 G35 coupe and the trunk wouldn't release. Checked fuses and interestingly enough a fuse was bad, so I replaced it but trunk still wouldn't release. Then read the post about severed wires where rubber boot is on trunk lid and after very close investigation and re-investigation, BINGO! A severed wire! So, I McGivered it with some electrical tape. Now trunk opens! BURN on dealer! I didn't have to bring it in and get gouged! Thank you very much bro's!

Note: I replaced battery immediately before experiencing trunk release problem and thought for sure it was related. Apparently not.
