Trunk Problems..

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

yes, you do have to give it a good whack to get it to close. Nothing wrong there.

It has to do with interior air pressure. I had an Audi TT coupe and when you opened either door the window would go done a little so when you close the door the air could escape and make closing the door easier. If you have a window or door open on your EX you will notice a big difference when closing the trunk. Less expensive vehicles close easier because they are not as airtight as the more expensive cars. It shows how airtight you new truck is so be happy when you need a little extra effort to close.

No problems with the "trunk" door on my EX35 because my EX35 doesn't have a trunk door!

(My EX35's hatchback door is sometimes a bit tough to close if I don't slam it hard enough though!)

I had an issue with mine at first...until I made adjustments to a piece of plastic molding- Make sure that the plastic "guard" that sits over the "clasping hook", isn't getting in the way of the door closing.
