Trunk does not open with remote. I have a 2008 M35x. I can no longer access the trunk by using the remote or the trunk release on driver door, or the button inside the glove box. All batteries are fully charged, so not a battery issue. The web and You Tube are full of explanations for this exact issue for earlier years where a wire breaks and therefore renders the remotes inoperative. The only way to access trunk is with a key and that is getting old. I have inspected all wiring in the trunk and cannot find a break, but cannot get to all wiring harnesses. I am convinced there must be a broken wire. My 2008 has a sort of "tension pulley" that keeps tension on the wiring harness for the rear area. Apparently Infiniti's response to all the issues with broken wires in previous years, but NO information on the 2008. Does anyone have experience with fixing this and any suggestions? The dealer wants to "trouble shoot" until they happen to find the problem. No telling how long that could take. Help would be greatly appreciated.

The button inside the glovebox is a lock override on my car, not an open button. Are you sure you didnt do a lock override on your truck and now you cant open it because of that?

Could you clarify what you meant by the bold part? It seems something is missing.
EDIT:
Nvm, I got it. Yeah, all Y50s have that spiral cable, from 06 through 2010. I haven't really heard of many Nissans suddenly having bad trunk wiring either, not in this generation or previously... Unless someone tampers with it.

Also, if you are convinced that a wire is broken, then try replacing the wiring around the spiral cable to the trunk. Does the car beep when you use the touch button on the pad?
Either way, if you want some parts to test with, I have a spare harness from an 06 m45 with all options that you can have. I don't think much would have changed between 06-10, although I see some supercession,in the part #s. Verify the months of production against what is on your door jamb sticker.

Here's a non-root cause solution. When I do my engine projects and the battery has to be out and I still need trunk access, I attach a string to the in-trunk emergency release and fish it through the ski pass through. Is it pretty? Well, depends on how pretty your string is... But it sure works to pop the trunk from wherever my string terminates.

Ed, Thanks for the response. YouTube has many videos on fixing the broken wires for Nissan and Infiniti models through 2006, but nothing after that and I have a 2008 M35. Again, NONE of the buttons work and I don't have a meter to check the voltage to the trunk actuator to see if 12 volts are being sent. I will try to get that tested. If there is no voltage then the must be a broken wire. Then the challenge is finding the break. It could be in the part # 24276G. That part is the "tension pulley" I referred to earlier. Is this the part you have? Thanks again.

Yes, that is the part I have in addition to other harnesses and wiring that goes back there. I stripped an entire car and kept those for a rainy day.

Let us know how the testing goes. Otherwise a multimeter or test light are usually reasonably priced and easily sourced.
