same thing happened to mine. it shouldn't really be stuck though. you just have to turn the key, holding it, and then lift up real hard on the trunk. it's probably just the gold latch mechanism that's supposed to pop your trunk up. in mine a spring just went poop, so it doesn't pop it up. it can also help sometimes to get new struts though. the hydraulic things that hold the trunk up.

Will the key turn around all the way in the lock? If it does then you have the same trouble as me. The bar that goes between the lock and the latch is broke. Best way to fix it is go to a local junkyard and find the whole thing + the key.

the key dosent turn at all. it dosent appear to be rusted thoughi checked the latch mechanisim and it seems to be okay. I think this weekend i'm going to see if i can look around at some junk yards but i'm not sure where any of them are around here (Portland, Maine) last night i took the assembly apart and all of the linkage and the latch is fine its actually the lock mechanisim that seems to be stuck somehow or either its broken. I'm not sure if soaking it will help but i would just rather replace it if its possible.. thanks everyone for your replies

How'd you end up getting it open? I'm having the same problem. I turned the latch off when I put in my box. Now the key doesn't work at all and I can't reach around the box to get to the on/off latch switch either!?!?!?!?!??

BTW: I've tried graphite and silcone already.

I just wiggle the key and simultaneously lift on the trunk and turn the key and eventually it will pop up .... also lower your hatch latch and it will pop easier when it does finally pop.

all my key locks suck when it gets cold out. sometimes i have to giggle the key back and forth at least 20 times before it actually engages. i dont kno what nissan was thinking when using these locks

i have the same problem for years- i never cared i guess, because the lever inside works (96 240)i never bothered jiggling i have lubed the crap outta my lock but never turned. i thought maybe the trunk lock and door may have been different, when i bought the car from the used lot.but i guess the lock is just b-u-s-t-e-d POS.
