Trunk Lid Pop-up

Hello. Starting last week the trunk lid of my 90 Q no longer pops up when the release button is pressed. The latch clicks but no release. Key works fine. Any ideas? Thanks

There's an override switch in the glove box. Did you try that yet? If so, how do your fuses look?

The solenoid wouldn't fire if the switch or fuse was the problem. If the key works fine you may just have to remove the trim and dig in and adjust the mechanism.

Try lubricating the gasket with Lexol or your rubber trim dressing of choice... Sounds weird, but Q2's trunk lid used to hang up sometimes until I did this...

I had the same thing on both my Qs. If you look at the latch (that would be on the body of the car) youll see this little flappy thing that goes in toward the latch.. All you have to do is take some pliers, bend that thing a little closer to the latch, and it will work... You be bending it counter clockwise.....
