Not sure about these types of computers.Poyzinous wrote:...what?

When the battery in the remote is towards its end of life you will experience strange problems.MoonRiver wrote:My G35 6MT trunk lid behaved very strangely. Sometimes it refused to open whether with the switch on the dash near the door, the button next to the tail lights or the remote fob. I tried unplugging the fuse the BCM ( body control module) hoping it reset the BCM that controls the lid, but it didn't help. Then the other day as I parked I shut off the engine before the car completely stopped, for some reason I wanted to open the lid by pushing the silver button by the tail lights, the lid didn't open. I thought could it be the way of engine being turn off? I decided to do a little test. I started the engine, backed off a bit then pulled forward, but this time I waited until it came to a dead stop before turned the key. Got off the car pushed the trunk lid button, it opened! aha, gotcha!
I almost had to take it to the dealer, but thought it's an intermittent problem, it may not be reproducible at dealer. Now I know what the computers don't like. The G has so many litter computers controlling this and that, even the truck lid. Is it necessary?
Probably would not affect the switch on the dash.telcoman wrote:

Replace the battery in the remote

If you have a smart key with push button start, it might?pfarmer wrote:

From a preliminary look at the FSMs it appears that for the key to be an issue it would also be an issue with other items in the food chain before the switch on the dash would be affected as well. So I would tend to look at what is common to all trunk switches when it comes to the trunk lid failure to open. One is the switch in the glove box. Another would be the trunk lid actuator, still another would be the BCM. To me the key's presence has already be verified based on no complaints about other items that requires it presence to be verified, such as starting the car. No mention of a 'no key' light on the dash.telcoman wrote:

Check with the dealer
