My wife's '03 G35 sedan developed the dreaded radio/climate control issue a while back, so I popped it out to send in to the guys at Short Circuit (who did a great job fixing it, by the way).

But something I noticed immediately after having removed the radio/climate unit was that the trunk latch no longer worked. I figured that maybe there was some strange connection between the radio/climate control unit and the trunk actuator. But after getting my unit back and re-installing it, still no dice with the trunk lid button.

The trunk can still be popped with the remote, just not with the hatch button itself.

Has anybody else had this issue? It couldn't be a fuse could it? Otherwise, the latch wouldn't open even with the remote, right?

Do you have the trunk lock in the glove compartment on?

Disco!

Now that you mention it, I think I did actuate that switch/lock when dismantling the dash the first time through. I'll check it as soon as I get home.

what was the problem with your wife radio/ac cause my battery keeps dying and i checked the amps going to my battery and there was a half amp going to it so i started to take out the fuses and got to the radio/ac and the amps went down to 0. so i always had a half amp going to my radio or ac even when my car was turned off. so what i am asking is was it an easy fix or is this something that will have to go to the shop for

nellayar, her car wasn't suffering battery drain issues at all, so I don't know if a repair on the radio/climate control will help your situation. But it does sound to me like your radio is draining your battery.

Best bet, give the gus a Short Circuit a call and explain your symptoms. They've done enough Infiniti systems to know if it's caused by the radio/climate control.
