trunk/key issue

so the lever in my s14 doesnt work for opening the trunk and my key broke so i only have a vallet key...sweet life huh. i went to nissan to see if they could make a key from the vin # and they claimed they only can do it from cars produced in 96+. once again...sweet life. any suggestions?

call a locksmith, they should be able to get it open and make a new key to fit it.

that was actually my last resort option because im cheap, but i guess i gotta do it. thank you

i just recently noticed my lever (s13) not working for the gas tank, and happened to notice that part of teh cable was broken (the plastic part that holds the outer tube onto teh levet bracket)

like $3 (and 30 minutes to rip out half the interior to get to the damn cable) later from a junkyard i have a whole new cable

youll probably have to take your seat out, but do that, then the sill and peel up your carpet, you should be able to see the problem

(and the sills are just a little tricky, its plastic screws inside plastic sleeves that hold them down. stick a flathead underneath to put pressure on the sleeve/screw, then unscrew it)

doesnt help your key situation much, but should help out

On S13's there is also a small switch in the trunk that prevents it from being opened from inside the car...Doesn't help you get it open but if you want the lever back in the future it might just be disabled..

I would check with another dealership. I was able to get another key made for my s13 from a local dealership and mine is an s13.
