i need to double check before i go junkyarding- i have a '91 fastback with a (gasp!) rusted stupid hatch with spoiler. A 1989-1990 will fit a '91 , correct?? and also can i add the wiper from my exiting hatch to a hatch that doesnt have one??

yes. the only difference between model years for hatchbacks were the engine's 89's and such came with single overhead cam. and 93's cam with dual overhead cam. everything else is the same but a newer eddition. yes it will fit.

I'd like to know that as well. Some idiot hit it and made it wavy.

bodies are all the same on the s13's except for the nose's. 88-90's had the "pig-nose" whereas the 91-94's had a rounded front end. and a correction to RedRum240's statement, the single overhead cams were in 89-90 while the dual overhead cam's were in the 91-94's (as far as s13's are concerned). 94's however only came in convertable.

Yes there was one, many MANY years ago. I used to sell them. At the factory, when the spoilers went on, the mooring holes were just drilled. (no rtv, no oil, no rustproofing) so when you have a rainfall the water just sat there, and subsequently rusted. It fell under the 6 year rust warranty and alot came in for it (even in year 7) to have the hatches replaced, as it took too many man-hours to fix(cheaper to replace). They coupes were made differently, and hence do not have those rust issues. If you are the original owner, you could still talk to Nissan and they would most likely help, but if you aren't the repair time has long gone. As for the wavy spoiler, it is just the collapsing and settling of the endura rubber spoiler over the years on the mounting bracket, this is normal under heat and wear.

I just got rid of my wing, only the wing was rusted, specially the inside to the point where it was deformed, but luckily the hatch suffer no rust at all. The inside squeleton of the wing starts rusting and from there the cancer moves to the hatch. Thats not too bad for a 1989, and after living in Alaska a couple of years. Im going to repair it and a new JDM wangan is taking her place....
