trunk floor replacement

im looking into replacing my trunk floor with just a flat piece of metal and eventually installing a fuel cell. but i do not know how thikc of a metal to use to make my new trunk floor. can anyone tell me?

I think stock is something like 18 gauge. If you don't have a bead roller, you won't be able to get it very strong, so 16 might be a better bet.

thanks. by going with 16 gauge (thicker metal) will that increase stiffness?

It'll stiffen the floor a little, but wouldn't do anything for the car overall.
