seems kind of pointless seeing how the bumper support goes that far.

THAT... Was one of the most uneducated comments I have ever heard on the subject of roll cages.A properly installed roll cage is 100% safe, and if you are sitting in your seat the way the seat was designed to be sat in (not leaning back all gangster style) then there is NO WAY to hit your head on the cage even in an accident.

umm, I think that would be just about the most pointless mods you could do to a 240. Who really cares if that part of the body flexes? all that matters it that all the mechanical, suspension, handling parts of the car maintain proper alignment geometry.

For example, If my headlight was flexing like crazy would I brace it? no because it doesnt matter. Strut tower braces are wonderful, but I cant see how this bar could improve handling a bit.

I really wonder how much torsional load that part of the chassis sees. I am gonna go peek, but maybe the bolts are the rear mounts for the subframe?

I looked today. the rear subframe mounts are very far away from those points. They are just slightly to the rear of the strut towers, and a bit closer together. I dont think this bar will do anything.
