Got a quick question...

How do you fix the trunk so it will stay up? Besides using a long stick or bat... Oh and when I bought my car it still had the factory alarm with the key chain but I can't seem to get it to work. The light comes on the remote but nothing happens. How can I check to see if it's still good? I tried to set the remote with the lock all doors, pop trunk, put key in and out 10 xs, unlock and lock driver door, but nothing happened. The hazards didn't blink or anything. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

OK for your first problem, Your trunk torsion bars are worn out, Which I have never heard of but clearly possible like in your case.

And as for the Key FOB issue I would take it to AutoZone to see if the battery is good, But did you follow the instructions on programing it correctly?

If all else fails take it to pro help.

Good luck an Happy new Year, Paul

Got/added a spoiler? Could be someone swapped trunk lids with a J30t and your torsion bars are for the standard/lighter (sans spoiler) trunk lid?

Damn, forgot all about the J30 spoiler.

I should stay in the Q45 forum.

Most dealers will either charge you nothing or a nominal fee to program the remote. Depends on dealer.

I put a spoiler on the wife's J (she wanted to be spoiled) and the trunk will stay open, but closes extremely fast, and dangerous if you are not quick.

No I never had a spoiler on it. As for the battery it's good and the light comes on. I did follow the lock all doors, pop trunk, put key in and out 10 xs within 10 seconds, manually unlock and lock driver door, hit lock on remote. Doesn't work. The trunk btw is a j30 not j30t unless the person before me changed the emblems. If those instructions are wrong plz let me know. Thanx...

I have no idea what the instructions are for the Key FOB, I would search and see what you find or at least look in the owners manual or service manual available here: http://nicoclub.com/FSM

As for the trunk issue I would look at the dash and see if you have a light that says HICAS if so then you have J30T if not then you have a J30.
