It was a lot of work, but I managed to gather enough data to post an initial result for the 2009 Nissan Murano today at TrueDelta.com. Only results based on 30+ responses and 90+ months of data are visible to non-members on the site. The result for the new Murano didn't quite reach the latter mark, so it's not publicly visible on the site. But I'll also post it here, since members of this forum have been such excellent participants.
As promised, I've also given credit to this forum in today's press release.
Anyway, at least initially the 2009 Murano appears to require fewer repairs than the typical new car. The stat I focus on is number of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year. The 2009 Murano came in at 16 (i.e. 0.16 per car), which is less than one-third of the average. Aside from the Rogue, other recent new Nissans haven't done nearly this well.
Next update in November. The current result is so low that a higher number next time would not surprise me. But even if the number doubles, it would still be low.
