well not on a stock motor but with this 275 deg cam and header it will be making power more towards the stock redline, but i was just curious and wondering why they would be so off like that......and damn dude, 8k on the Ka? haha not goodDattebayo wrote:Why does it matter? It's not like the KA makes any power up there anyway...
Well put! I had just read about the analog gauges and what not. Beat me to it dangitArrow wrote:Also you should know that since the tach is analog it will read off by some exponential rate the higher the gauge is to its max. So basically your tach will read correct (or so close you can't tell) at idle, but the higher it gets the further it will be off. And that is with ANY analog gauge so that includes speedometers as well... Now I'm not going to say how far they are off near the end of their limit, but they are off.
Well the rev limiter only works to cut off fuel/spark at a certain RPM. With an incorrect downshift, there is a mechanical link that can't be "cutoff". So it can't keep you from doing thatxckid wrote:apparently rev limiter aint sheet when your down shifting. I once down shifted to too small of a gear on mistake to avoid a accident, And I just saw my Rpm go to 8 k......i was sure my motor was a gonner...nope 10k miles later shes still running strong lol. God im glad
ever heard of KA-T? its pretty sickDattebayo wrote:Why does it matter? It's not like the KA makes any power up there anyway...

lets see how quick this thread can last nowADF932 wrote:I have a quick question. What do you remove to get rid of the speed limter?
he's probably talking about the stock KASketchyRollin564 wrote:

Psh 8k IS my redline and from what i hear, the actual "redline" the engine is capible of is much higher (just going off what i heard)wahrheitoderpflicht wrote:I've pegged my tach several times... +8K RPMs not good, but it still runs!
I will next time. Thanks for your advice.pflicht wrote: Search!
