Does anyone know if a tru dual exhaust is made for a 240 95-98? I'm not talkin about two tips coming out of one muffler right at the end but two tips being on the right and the left of the rear of the car. I think it would look cool, but would i have to get one made with custom mandrel bent piping? any input is welome thanks

That is not a dual exhaust. I dual exhaus would have the 4 pipes coming off of the exhaust port join to 2 pipes which would come out the back of the car. Its not really possible with a I4 or and I*

But I get what you are saying. Ill do a little search for you///

i dont kno but my TRU exhaust is badass, it sounds like a v8 yo. :rolleyes

no i dont think there is because i doubt any manufacturer would want to waste R&D on something that is pointless

It's not R&D, it's get under the car and find a way to route the pipes...

with some custom piping work, it could probably easily be done. who knows about the impact on performance...usually, the research and development departments of larger companies fine tune an exhaust to the best performance.

i can picture it now...it would look nice.

'R&D for best performance' .... under what setup? A car running 5 psi is going to have dif requierements than a caar running 14psi or no booost at all.

I couldn't find anything deez, youd probaly have to get something custom

im sorry but i ahd to say it,

find is the key word, find can also be used in place of research

IE: "i found the cat in nachos again"

" i researched the location of the cat and found him to be in the presence of nachos once again"

see it works both ways

True dual exhaust can be done. Fabricate two headers, both 2 into 1. Each leads to a seperate exhaust pipe that routes to a muffler, Wahla. True Dual exhaust.

my F-150 with an inline 6 has two 3-to-1 manifolds. it's pretty cool. but then they both go into one cat with a single outlet. wtf?

custom manifolds is how it'll have to be done though

slideshow: "find" doesn't replace "research," it replaces "try to find"see, in the sentence where you used research, you used found too lol

I guarente someone has done it before, but you have to keep in mind 1) you will be adding more weight to your car without adding any performance and 2) it will cost more than its worth most likely unless you are building a show car (where dual exuasts are common and dont really help win points anymore).

Its a cool idea, im just trying to keep it in perspective for yah ;) . I have "dual exaust" (apexi dual N1) on my car and it didnt do much for power on the stock KA. On a custom set up you wont be able to test for the best flow and more likely than not there will be too many bends in the system for it to flow anybetter than a pre-fabricated single muffler cat back exaust (big companys got the big $$$ to put research into their products).

Sorry buddy but to route a dual exhaust you would a)have to get custom headers (exhaust manifold) made, and b) relocate your gas tank to the center (as done in the altima 3.5). Thats what I call fun.

what if you're running a turbo?

n u have a 3" downpipe n then u just split them off in a Y shape?

that way it goes from 3" pipe to maybe 2.25 inch pipe and it looks more friendly out back, w/ 2 mufflers it'll be quieter too no?

Sonny you still have to relocate your gas tank. Take a look under your car one of these days where the second muffler would be and tell me what you see.

And does it increase power for them? No. Will it for us? No.

thanks for all of the replies. I figured no one made them because it is a bit unneccasary for dual outlets. Also the only reason I would do it would be because I liked the way it looked. I mean face it an exhaust really doesnt give you TONS of horsepower so if it cant make your car all that much faster then at least make it look cool huh?

well if ur running a big turbo, it cant hurt to have the extra pipe...unless it slowing down the exhaust velocity? i donno

leave dual exhaust for the V engines

besides, the 240ss has a 5.7 liter V8 and it only has single exhaust.

Thanks to Swift_Drift for showing me this. Side pipes on a Skyline, but still pretty cool, and quite noteworthy.

Side note: the above is a purpose-built track car, and the picture is for our viewing pleasure only. Don't ever do this to your daily driven transportation. -Phil :D
