It happened twice in the last three months, the key in ignition is turned On, the clucth pedal pressed, and no sound at all, no even a click, but just the far away singing of a cricket filling the air around...

This is weird, because everything appears to be right with this truck.

Before I decided to post here, I made a review of a similar case that someone must have posted online, and yes, lots of people have experienced the same situation. In some cases their trucks have made a click sound, and they have replaced the started relay, or the starter itself, and their problem was fixed.

In other cases, they have replaced more parts, like the started solenoid, the clutch switch or just bypassing it, and solved the problem as well.

But, here is the situation, lots of drivers, have replaced all of the above, and their trucks -including other models like Sentra- have continued having an intermittent starting problem.

Some of them, took their vehicles to the mechanic, and after 6 months, when whatever part was replaced, started to have the same problem again. So, the solutions for some of them was to sell their vehicles, others, just to live with the problem forever.

For solutions, besides of reoplacing parts, were the checking of wiring or cables for rust and bad contact, the same as well, another poster suggested to add a ground strap "and attach one side to an intake manifold screw, and the other one to the firewall", because Nissan vehicles lack of grounding cables and etc, etc.

To resume, lots of situations and solutions from many people, and my question is, if somebody knows what is the main problem when you want to start the truck, and after turning the key On, you have no answer at all from the truck, not a click, no a sign of low battery, nothing but silence, and that you try again later on, and the truck starts like nothing happened before.

Thanks

How about a bad ignition switch? Or maybe the plastic button on the clutch pedal responsible for pressing the clutch switch is starting to fall out.

Thanks, I was driving the truck again without problems, and next week I will start to inspect both, the ignition switch, and the clutch switch. I will bypass the clutch switch for a while, to check if that is the problem.

Thanks again.

Check basics first like are cables on batter REAL clean and is the ground real CLEAN any rust or oxidation can cause these weird starts. Inspect the cable ends on battery real close buddy had a cable all ate up with oxidation on the inside and it was not easy to spot.
