After my truck head warped soo bad that it was un-usable... i decided to try an 240sx kaE head on the truck kaE motor.

The only difference between the truck head and the 240sx head is the intake manifold. the truck has larger ports for the fuel injectors to spray into and the 240sx head has pretty small ports for the injectors to spray into.

This work was done by me with no intentions of gaining performace... i just had an extra 240 head and wanted to try this out.

What i did was took the truck intake mani gasket and traced it onto the 240 head and basically ground out the injector ports a big larger.....Stock truck intake port. You can see how the top portion of the port is larger.

I put the truck intake gasket on the 240 head and tracked it...After about 20 min of grinding and cleaning the 240 ports are pretty close to the truck portsThis is all 4 of the 240 head ports after i finished grinding them.

I will put the engine back together this weekend and see if it works

thanx d00d. Do you have any head bolts left that i can buy... rocker arm supply wants 50 bux for a set of head bolts......

also, the place i had my head resurfaced (heblings machine) just shaved the edge off of an exhaust valve..... so now i have to send it back to them and get it fixed....

I have some spare used head bolt sets around, no new stock for sale though we have shelves of cores to finish up.

Never dealt with heblings, you might want to check out G&D machine in grangeville next time. Its a little ways out from where your at but you can send it out with huber or new meadows frieght.

They are stretch to yeild, but you "can" get away with re using them depending on their condition. If you use a torque wrench a lot you will know if it feels right or not on the last couple steps.

To be honest, we do it all the time with z/ka. Not something to do on a customer vehicle or a remanufactured engine, but for your own personal beast or a used car that you are selling it is the way to go. That sounds a little bad, haha, but you know what i mean. Ive never had a problem with re using them unless their was an obvious problem during install.
