Hi, I'm new here, just getting into small Nissan trucks.

I have an '88 4cyl that has been sitting for a few months. The clutch was fine when parked, but now it won't release completely. You can start the engine with it in gear (clutch pedal to floor) and if you have your foot on the brake the truck won't move, but if you release the brake the truck will inch forward, so the clutch is partly but not fully engaged. Also you can't shift it out of gear since there is always some pressure on the gears.

I'm suspecting the problem is in the hydraulics since there is some slip (so the clutch isn't rusted to the flywheel) and seals often go from just sitting. There's plenty of fluid and no visible leaks.

Is the master, slave or damper the most common to go in these? Or do you think I should I be looking at something other than the fluid systems?

Thanks!

Try bleeding the slave cylinder. You can also visibly watch the clutch fork to verify it engages & disengages. Have someone work the pedal while you watch the slave cylinder.
