The trick is to pay an expert a few hundred to accurately list all the defects, then present them here to learn the most cost effective way to attack each in series.
A quality shop will charge $75-$100 per shop hour yet pay the techs $25-$30, the rest goes to overhead and the other necessary employees.
Retail [dealer and shop] parts are marked up 25-45% to help keep shop labor rates low. Usually the only true profit in a business comes from the parts markup.
I save money and time by paying experts to do homework at $40 per hour on weekends and supply my own parts from wholesale dealers and ebay, junkyards [rarely].
