omg dont go over to the dark side.ChickenDrifter wrote:Okay fellas I need some advise.
I have a 95 S14 Zenki and want to know some facts on my car.
The only reason for this thread is cause Google aint helpin.
My car has a 17 gallon tank and is only getting 250miles per tank and no I dont rod the hell out of it.
I have 186000 miles on it. I do have a budget so what do you guys think I should do.
I could keep the KA and HKS hipower it and intake and maybe run low boost with a turbo but the high miles scare the sh** out of me.
also I installed a short shifter a while back (Fidanza) and I cannot Find out why its so rough when shifting and why my car wont go into first until I stop.
I just have no Idea and I am about to give up and get a civic so I need some inspiration to keep going.
THANKS!
Wisdom right there. Seafoam it and check the usual culprits: airfilter, knock sensor and whatever else might give you bad mileage or make you run rich.-RJ- wrote:you try seafoaming the car? That helps. My S14 had 220xxx miles on it and got about 300ish on a full tank on normal driving. My s13 on a rebuilt motor gets about 380 mpg on a full tank with a mix of city and highway. Do electric fans and throw away anything the car doesnt need, like heavy subs or spare tire.
Thats just me though. I wouldnt turbo it with that high milage. I would go the rebuild route. At least that way you get your mpg back
Whats the amount of power he wants have to do with any thing?T3X_S13 wrote:First wut numbers are you looking at putting out If your worried about mpg I wouldn't even pass 300...just do a basic rebuild if your on a budget
PCV and seafoam it, have the timing checked.xX RB Xx wrote:Try changing your plugs/wires/cap/rotor/ fuel filter/ all that stuff. See if that does anything.
Rebuild your old shifter and put that back in, that's what I did.I hated my old short shifter.ChickenDrifter wrote:also I installed a short shifter a while back (Fidanza) and I cannot Find out why its so rough when shifting and why my car wont go into first until I stop.
