So I have an 03' Altima 2.5 S. the car will not enter self program mode to program new key fobs. Has anybody had this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix it where to take it? Nissan dealership couldn't figure it out.

Moved your topic to the Altima Forum as the Audio Forum is pretty dead.

The dealership has a tool for programming keys. Did they offer an explanation as to why they couldn't get yours to work?

Are these keys the actual OEM ones that came with the car or replacements?

At the dealership 3 different service techs including the service manager tried to get the car into program mode by inserting ignition key (not an original) into ignition 6-10 times without any success. The only suggestion was for me to take the car to an automotive electric specialty shop & have diagnosed. I asked if they could do that at their dealership & was told they couldnt do that kind of diagnosis. I've checked all the door switches/pins,everything is good.

Unfortunately not all dealerships are equal. Before going to a specialty shop, I'd take the car to a different Nissan dealership to see if they can program the fobs. The Nissan dealership I worked for had a hand held device that paired the fobs with the car, rather than going through the key insert routine.

if the Nissan consult 2 or 3 is like the GM Tech2 there should be an option to program the keys. Right now i have a 2006 Malibu that i can not program the keys either using the car or the Tech2 i think it is the module that receives the signal forgot the name. will not unlock the car or lock either. for the Nissan might be the BCM I dot see a mention for a separate module.
