I just picked up a 90 TT That has apparently had a NA motor put in it. I Drove it home 40 miles no problems runs great put about another 60 miles getting the exhaust done and running around doing other things. I went to fill it up the other day and the PS Return line popped off the metal line. I went in changed the clamp and put it back on, It then blew a hole in the hose. I replaced the hose with some PS hose from Idiot Zone and 5 min later it blew a hole so I got some 300PSI hose and replaced it again It popped off a few time's. I then figured out that the PS system takes ATF not PS fluid so I back washed and flushed the system and blew compressed air through the return line from the hose to the resovoir to make sure there wasnt a blockage. I also Visually inspected to make sure when the car was running it was getting good fluid flow back to the resovoir after I filled it with ATF. I turned the wheels lock to lock a few hundred times until there were no air bubbles and once again line blew off. I Went back to the Nissan factory Clamps and after a few min Line blew off. I went back to the original factory formed hose and it didnt blow off but put another hole in the hose. Okay Im stumped should the return line have that much pressure and what would cause it to if its not supposed to. Im going to the &*()& Dealership to get a new hose tomorrow but think it may just blow again. Any Ideas? Anybody else ever had this problem?
Sorry for the long post but I wanted everybody to know what I had done so far.
