need to run a new downpipe, all I can find is sr20 ones, so I read that if I use the sr20det o2 housing (or turbo elbow as it is also known) then I can run the sr20 downpipe. My question is, would this aftermarket one fit? Just want to make sure I won't have any clearance problems. Thanks,

those dont work unless u bash the firewall last time ive heard to clear.. or use the SR downpipe and rotate the flange on the downpipe to fit

they hit the steering linkage. get a megan racing SR turbo elbow. while your at it, get a megan racing DP too. prolly about $120 for the 2.

Quote from their listing---

"This will now fit US market SR20DET SWAPS AS WELL - DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH THE STERRING COLUMN "

I saw the megan racing stuff, my friend has an evo with full megan racing o2 housing, downpipe, race pipe, and catback.. I installed it all for him and it fit like a glove and seemed pretty high quality. So if the megan racing 02 housing and downpipe bolt up with no modifications them I'm sold.

Times like this is when you look for deals.

I have ProjectSilvia (http://www.projectnissan.com) SR O2 housing, dp, and test pipe. Fit PERFECTLY. Rivals my HKS catback in fabrication quality...No joke. Beautiful welds and T304 SS. Their stuff is great for those that don't know. They are a small group of mainly drifters and road racers turned tuners. Located in Dallas area. I have their t/c rods as well. Retail is near or at $300 tho

EDIT: Damn. Looks like their O2 housing is discontinued:( It was $175 on it's own!) And thier current price on the test pipe/downpipe is $175...Sorry. Prob more than you wanted to pay

yeah I found someone selling one of those "divorced 02 housing" things for sr20 here in houston, so there is always the chance I could pick it up cheap and if it didn't work resell it, but I'd rather stick with something that I know will work. Is it just me or is ebay starting to peter out in its supply of sr20 parts? I searched "sr20det turbo" and it brought back a couple pages of items, it used to bring back 10 or more....

on the SR20 it doesn't hit the steering linkage, but you have to remember the CA sits differently in the engine bay. it has a gangster lean as opposed to the straight up sit of the SR.

heres your elbow, downpipe, and test pipe all in one auction

it'll be VERY streetable. the car would become illegal with the engine swap anyways, so why not go the full 10 yards?

I live in houston and we don't have "visual" here just emissions...hoping to keep it registered in WV with no emissions testing but it helps to keep my options open. Also, don't want to pay that much right now.

Too bad the only payment option is an international bank transfer.

yeah I saw that. back when I had my other ca... (or was supposed to anyway) flying nissan was selling some ca18det downpipes for around 100 bucks each if I remember. Apparently they have discontinued them in favor if the setup you linked to, which is really nice. I'm not sure how I feel about 1 piece things. The good thing is that they seal up nice, and you don't have to worry about bolting things up. The bad part is that if something ever happens to part of it (dents, cuts, rust) or if it doesn't line up right, you kind of have to replace the whole piece. I think I'm going to go with the 3 megan pieces posted. Initially I was going to just go with the megan racing 02 housing and downpipe, but then I realized that combo would run me the same as the auction for all 3. THEN I saw that ssautochrome has full catback, race pipe, downpipe, and o2 sensors together for 295 bucks plus 30 shipping (and I could probably pick it up anyway). If I'm going to spend 200 on the downpipe, o2, and race pipe, it might make more sense to pay another 95 bucks to have that nice 3" catback. I would just like to know if that divorced SS o2 housing that comes with it will work on the ca18det.

well if you are gettign turbo back exhaust it SHOULD work ...some have said it puts the DP close the the frame/rail of the car...the o2 i bought did not fit @ all...so either it was the wrong one (it was an sro2 and i have a ca downpipe) or its just way off..i dunno...im gonna get it cut an rewelded since i already have it...oh well

lol first it fits perfectly and now you say it hits the frame...good to know those things though, I guess thats just some of the crap you gotta put up with to have the oddball motor.I'm gonna try to go with that ASSautochrome turboback. Everyone cross their fingers (for me)....

an SR downpipe/o2 housing combo fits perfect if you use a stock SR set up... use an enormous 3 inch one will probably hit your frame rail (mine does)... wrap it with heat/header wrap and you won't even notice I'm using a BRM downpipe/test pipe combo with SSautochrome's cast SR o2 housing.

That is a good idea Sean! I think I will wrap mine when I pull it to install an EGT probe on my o2 housing.

It does fit perfect. Perfectly close to the frame rail (about 1mm away) and when the motor chugs (startup, shutdown, blow out full boost out of BOV when comming to a stop, etc) it will hit the rail.

yeah I was thinking of buying my friend an assautochrome stainless one and using his stock sr20 one. why can't someone just sell stock ca downpipes? I have a bunch of 2.5" mandrel bends, maybe I'll just have a muffler shop weld me something up from the turbo back.
