I have found that over time electrical connectors carode causing an intermitant recurring codes. I took mine to a dealer who is suppose to have qualified Mechanics . Error code 1135 spent the whole day there waiting paid $400 + $$ supposedly changed both sensors , 3 days later same code causes light to come on go back and get a bunch of new lies ,came home bought an Innova scanner, bought a haynes book did some reading and learned that intermittant caroded or loose connections can cause a code to set . Bought some CRC and im going to go over all connections making sure there clean . Just thaught i would share with you all . 1135 code is a Variable Valve timing Control System Malfunction Left bank . Not any sensors . I wont ever go back to a dealer for service. Geo I fixed the problem myself :naughty:

Yeah man. Never, EVER go to the dealer unless they are giving you free stuff.

Variable valve timing control system malfunction could be a couple different things, some of which are sensors... although typically those sensors would throw codes themselves if they were bad.

Welcome to NICO. I wish you'd have found us before you went to the dealer, we could've helped you out with P1135. Hope you stick around!

Check out the Pathfinder / QX4 forum section if you haven't yet, and especially the general information thread for some potential common issues and a lot of other hints. :)

I think thats what mechanics usually do is just replace sensors for whatever code there is. I may be guilty of that myself because theres only 1 in a million chance the wires will be corroded and no one ever looks at that. Consider yourself lucky. Ask for a refund.

Well we always taught our Apprentices ,BE thorough because call backs kill your reputation , and Then Its DFR Down The Ucking Road or back to the Union Hall . If all professionals act like Idiots youll give a bad name to all .
Trust is very important, it puts bread on your table . They only give more lies to cover the ones they just told No Refunds unless someone loses their Job . I have wrote Nissan and sent them all the info including the work order and mechanics name . That should do it .Geo
