I have been having trouble with my starter motor so I took the car out for a test drive after installing a new starter and forgot to torque down the lugnuts on the passenger side front wheel (snugged but not tight). I drove around for a couple of blocks before taking a hard left turn and dropped the rear end out a little and when I went to correct I noticed that I had a problem turning the steering wheel, like I didn't have powersteering. So I got home and thought it was just the fact that I had not tighted down the wheel so I went ahead and tourqued the lugnuts down and the next time I went out for a drive I noticed that I had the same problem so I have been trying to figure out when else I will notice the problem and I notice it when I turn out and the turn hard back the other way, I only seem to notice the problem when I turn the steering wheel from having the wheels facing one direction going all the way to the other side and only for the turing after I get back to center. Now for a description of my car. I have Coilovers, nismo powerbrace, full swaybars, s15 lsd, and cusco traction rods. I also have a turbo kit on the motor and the only reason I mention that is because I dont know if the extra heat could be causing a problem. Now for the things that I have noticed different that could affect the car. It has just recently gotten cold, I also just recently put heat sheilding around my powersteering resivour and what I mentioned about driving with loose lugnuts, I also recently went on a little road trip with my car 1 1/2 each way which I have not done often since the turbo kit install. I dont have a clue what the problem could be. I am thinking it may be either heat related resulting in maybe the powersteering fluid having broken down. The other thought is that the power steering pump is maybe starting to go. I was just wondering if anyone has had somthing of the same kind of problem.

as for the power steering problem, check to see if there is any leekige in the lies, its posable that the "rattle" Or movement of the Front wheel could have Jared the Rack Enough to bust a seal ETC.

If the car has had zero problems with the steering getting "dead spots" ie. harder to turn sometimes. Then I am about 100% certain you have a caster problem.

When in a drift the car's front wheels want to follow the path of the car as it's the least resistant. If you are at this point and you find it hard to return the steering to zero then you may not have enough positive caster angle.
