Truck has been ticking at hot idle. Also getting a partial misfire intermittently. So I pulled the valve cover off. Lifters were all hard. I took em out and pulled the cam and caps. Everything looked good. Cam had even wear , rocker pads looked normal. I couldn't find anything wrong that would cause a tick.

I checked the oil pressure and got 55psi cold idle and 20 psi warm with the ticking present. I took the valvetrain to a mechanic to have a look. He runs a collection of 4wd suzuki's. He said everything looked great to.

I'm also hearing a rap when its revved. I pulled the plug wires with it running and its still there.

I'm really at a loss as to what to do now. I've got $1500 in this boat anchor. Needless to say thanks for letting me vent.

Check factory lash clearances? Replaced shims as needed?

Just thought I would throw that out there to show we still care. Even when you want to vent.

What about the timing chain? Does sound like a lifter though.

Its an sohc so it has hydraulic lash adjusters. The timing assembly is all new OEM parts.

I have decided to do one of the following.

1) BURN BURN BURN!!

2) $150 ka24e swap

3) cheap domestic swap v6 or v8

before I decide I'm going to finish this one off.
