As if I didn't need more incentive to finish my VH45 Merc. I stayed back at work for a bit this arvo to put some new non-active suspension rear shocks in the merc. Driving the Z home, I noticed a rattle. Thought it was another car until I was beside an entirely different car and the noise was there again. Seems 3rd gear is absolutely trashed!! It's got the worst death rattle I've ever heard.

With the Z being my daily driver, I'm going to have to put some serious hours into the Merc to get it finished so I can rebuild the Z box.

It never ends.....

I know the feeling....I've been out of a vehicle ever since I blew the engine up in the Pathfinder. I really didn't anticipate the VH swap taking this long but I've gone overboard on the project. All I really need now is to get the engine back together, fab up engine mounts, finish the wiring, and get Wes to hurry up and finish his adapter!

Damn, I would never attempt a VH swap in my only vehicle! lol But sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do I guess.

I ended up selling my nice truck, getting a beat up toyota pickup with 306,000 miles on it and then traded that for a 88 civic hatch. I honestly love this little car. It has more legroom than I have ever had in any of my old trucks, insurance is a whopping 30 bucks a month and it gets about 35-40 mpg's in the city so far. I have had trucks since 1996 but realize I should have bought a little car a long time ago. This thing is saving me so much money it's crazy. One doesn't realize how much fuel and money suv's and trucks suck up. I am trying to convince the better half to get rid of her Range Rover but it's a tough battle. I am just tired of working on the POS.

Don't ever, EVER, buy a RR. You have been warned. lol

Yeah, I sold it to my friend so at least I get to still ride in it and work on it. lol It was bad *** but I've had trucks for about 15 years now and I just got tired of them.

I hate range rovers. They are the epitome of everything that is bad about english cars.
