Ok, this issue started a few weeks ago and has been pretty consistent ever since. First off, my car has trouble starting (especially when it's cold but whether that's a direct consequence or irrelevant to the issue is beyond me). To be more specific, the engine usually takes a couple tries to start up and i can hear the starter motor(?) "click" repeatedly, but the engine doesnt fire up like it's supposed to. It's as if the batteries low, but almost always, it eventually starts up... i'm also pretty sure that it can't be good for my motor either

Finally when it does start, instead of the usual roar of the motor starting that i'm used to, it sounds like it's struggling to start up. Of course once it does eventually start it sounds fine, but til then, not so much...

Now another thing that occurs is that my gauges are all flat, meaning my rpm and fuel gauge (usually if it's from a cold start, however, if after driving a bit, the temp gauge is also flat) is usually at rock bottom til a few seconds passes of what almost seems like the car figuring out what's going on, then they shoot up at the same time. (this issue, more or less happens every time now)

I'm planning on dropping my car off at the stealership this weekend, but in the meantime, would anyone be able to shed some light on previous experiences or things they've heard regarding this issue?

Some specs:- 2008 Altima- Battery has never been replaced (although i doubt it's a battery issue)- Have an SBD grounding kit installed

Checking the battery is easy... just get a multimeter and read the voltage. If you don't have one, any auto parts store will test your battery, starter and alternator for free.

they might try to wiggle out of any warranty work if they see mods., especially dealing with electrical mods. i'd say remove it to be safe!my .2c

I talked to my buddy who works on cars about my problem. he let me know that his brother's evo had done the same thing before and it was a battery issue.

soo...

Went to autozone and tested the battery. it's supposed to average around 12.7 to 12.8 volts. Mine was registering a staggering 3.1 volts.

in short, i purchased a new battery and now we're all good to go. it's good to hear her fire up again.
