Hey heres my problem when starting the engine cold my car doesn't wanna start. The rpms will go up slightly hesitate sometimes go up to 1000 and then drop down to zero. The check engine lite came on tripping the IAC code so i had that replaced but the thing still does it and every time i reset the lite it comes back on and says the IAC xcode. I found a TBS saying to clean the butterfly valves on in the throttle chamber and i did that but the next morning the idle started to fluctuate when the car was warming up. I have taken the car to infiniti and they can't find the problem they said was probably just the iac sticking because it was new. I have heard that there is a air regulator valve in addition to the iac valve does anyone know what my problem might be thanx.

Like mentioned, you need to clean your intake path completely.

I would change the air filter if you havent done recently.

Then clean then MAF, make sure that you use a good electrical parts cleaner. Also make sure it leaves ZERO residue. Then let the maf dry over a couple hours.

To clean the throttle bodies, just use some TB cleaner spray and get as much carbon off as you can. The most important point are the contact points.

Then to complete the cleaning get a BG intake cleaner. And do the service. This consists of connecting a reservoir to one of the vacuum lines on the intake manifold. Then very very slowly releasing the cleaning liquid.

Make sure the car is fully warmed up when doing this. After all the solution is gone, drive the car pretty hard for a while, until you notice that the exhaust stopped emitting heavy carbon smoke. I like to go on the highway to do this.

Then change the oil.

All these steps should help with idle. If they dont completely resole it. I would clean the IAC, and see if your TPS is set to the correct voltage.
